Silence is Broken

It has been a while since I finally sat down and wrote something. Partially because of being busy, but more about procrastination. The nearing close of the winter season has me itching for the seasonal chance, and yet whenever I get rolling on working on projects, I end up working in the basement anyways (it is difficult to setup a tower and 2 monitors out in a cafe or bar). I'm losing my train of thought, but what has been going on here anyways lately.

TEDxCLE

I want to first thank Shark&Minnow the opportunity to talk in front of the people of my fair city, Cleveland OH. And talk about open source, mutltitouch technology and be able to demo my newest table prototype. In fact after the talk, I got quite a bit of new local twitter followers (hi all!) and big props to awdsgn (TheViewFrom32.com) who shot and release some video of the table, I need to work on recording these opportunities more...also has writted up some great posts all about it.

awdsgn's video (thank you very much for releasing this)

Also a shout out to Northcoast Zeitgeist! One of my favorite new people to follow on twitter and blog to read.

All of the speakers were fantastic! and extremely inspirational. I hope I'll get more opportunities in the future to work together with such brightminded and passionate people. Clean energy, revitalizing damaged cities, entrepreneurial-ism(ness), food, clothes and even an awesome lawyer!

I love looking through all the social media buzz:

And since I'm already scattering my thoughts around, a big thanks to Eric (erickogelschatz) from Shark&Minnow for helping me get my act together for the talk. It started as just a random stream of thoughts with barely any direction to something that actually had a flow to it.

Also of course, big props to the NUIGroup and in the community. Without their help, I would have no idea what I was doing at all. Thanks to all the open source projects that exist those which I mention and those I have not, plus sites like makezine.com and instructables.com

So for now, I'd like to simply thank everyone for attending, and if you missed it, check it out:

My talk:

Happy Experimenting
(^_^)//

I'll try and stop procrastinating and get back into the swing of things. [semicolon dash close parenthesis]
And if I missed anyone, just let me know.

Thanks for the shout-out. I loved your talk. If we’re going to wait for someone else to make the “next great thing”, we could be waiting a long time. Besides, why can’t WE be the ones who make the next big thing. That’s how I felt after hearing you.

    Chris…
Thanks for the links & comments, glad you like the video. Just so we don’t confuse people, tho, my website is TheViewFrom32.com (not …West 6th!)

    Best,
    Al
