I've got some upgrading going on. First, I procured a new projector. I was worried the old one was running out of bulb life, and I borrowed it. Similar throw distance, well a little less. And I decided to switch from FTIR to DI for an upcoming event. So now I can just get a now projection screen and solid surface and be set until the next build.
I didn't want to purchase IR emitters from anywhere and have to get all new IR filters for my webcam, so I decided to make my own. In a process not too different from making the FTIR sides, I made light emitting bars, I figure a string of lights would cover more evenly compared to a spotlight anyways.
And I didn't want to keep using the wood rails I made for holding the first projector. This time I opted for aluminum. Plus it'll be good practice for my next build, coming soon hopefully, just waiting on a little more seed money. The metal was much much more stable than wood btw.
So a final test with CCV. Success. The only fault is that the screen is off a little, skewed a little, but with the app I'll be using in an upcoming event I'll be able to crop in the screen a little and no one would be the wiser, except you reading this post...maybe I shouldn't put this in then. Oh well. (^_^)// Build and Learn...and experiment. CCV was running about 30-60 FPS solidly (mainly cause it is hooked up to a slow computer).
Then one this I'd like to point out is a combonation of a screw thread and nuts and washers to help fine tune the mirror. But I think I'll be looking into a front mirror thing, I'm tired and forget what its called exactly. [Surface! Front Surface Mirror, thank you fashionbuddha, first to fill in the blank]
And what kind of build would it be without some type of battle damage? A boring one right? POW, scratch from a drill bit. DONE!
Now time to fine tune a couple of last bits. A new top and some sides. Luckily still enough time to not worry about everything. But check back in 3 weeks, I may be freaking out about the time left.

Hi
Good post, very illustrative, great help for us, builders of Rear DI setups
what type of diffuser do you use? Rosco Grey right?
best regards
Fernando
Thank you. Right now it’s still only a piece of vellum. But I do have an order of Rosco Grey coming in this week to switch it out.
